Fondation Ars Mechanica

Throughout its 130-year history, the Herstal Group, one of the last major Walloon multinational companies,
was capable of the most varied achievements, both in military and civilian fields : from machine guns to motorcycles, from aircraft engines to shotguns.

In 2008, the Herstal Group decided to create a public utility foundation to keep track of all these technological developments and the companies in which they were designed.

Since then, the Ars Mechanica Foundation has been working to preserve and promote this worldwide and rich industrial heritage in order to perpetuate the identity of the Herstal Group and its
subsidiaries.
